Archie and Goodbye Old House

Hiya all,

As you know, life has been crazy for us because we sold our house a few months ago and put all our stuffs into storage while our new house is being built. We are living with my uncie and Scarlet and Zoe while we are "homeless".

My mum was contacted by Schnauzer Rescue (while we were packing and preparing to move out) and was asked to temp foster a male mini schnauzer.  To cut a long story short, we did.

Enter Archie.

Archie and I were friends straight away. Archie ended up in the RSPCA shelter after his people divorced and he was a victim of that fall-out. Don't get mum started. Then he was adopted by an elderly couple - who loved him but could not look after him properly. He put on LOTS of weight while with them and developed some health problems too. So Archie found himself back with the RSPCA again. Lucky for Arch the Schnauzer Rescue people were contacted and then they called ma.

Ma helped Archie get all better again.

Archie and I learned how to schnauzer synchronise our sleeps (while mum was packing up the kitchen)

And even though there was not much left in our old house - mum always made sure we had enough doggie beds to use. Here is Lily (Auntie Lynny's dog) who we were looking after while Auntie Lynny was in the Youuu-Kayy on holidays.

We all went on daily walks together.

And on Junk Food Friday ... we would all have a little taste of peep unhealthy foodables. "No Pressure Dad dad!!"

And in the meanwhile a big truck came and made this happen in every room - the dining room went from this...

To this!!

My bedroom got emptied (remember how the silly birdies would knock at this window and I'd go "off my nut" at them?!) ... ahhhh just memories now!

The office cleaned out.

And I was explaining to Archie how I had many hours of playing Goalie at these two steps, and hours of running up and down the hallway chasin' my balls. This photo captures my last moments ever in my old house. The house I came to as a wee pup of 8 weeks old. Sad huh?

Then we left our house forever and moved in with Auntie Lynny (and Lily) when she got home.

Archie and I had lots of funs playing with the squeaky toys ... and Archie was a bit naughty with chewing them a bit too hard at times.

But the great news is - Archie was then adopted by Auntie Lynny and Lily. Auntie Lynny had seen two of her little rescue doggies go to the bridge earlier this year - so she was really sad about that - but she was ready to look for another fur-baby .... and it was just meant to be that she and Archie crossed paths through my ma.

It meant I had to give up my temp brother though :-(

But it's all good because we see Archie all the time. We will probably even see Archie and Lily for "doggie daycare" when our new house is built.

So it was a great outcome for all - Archie has landed on his paws - and he will never need to look for a forever home again. He has one.

And he has a good schnauzer friend in ME!

Do You Remember Me? A Pupdate IS required!!!!

Hiya everybuddy!!! It's been such a long time since you have heard from me ... it's like I've just skidded off the face of the planet! Here is my "proof of life" photo:

My peeps - especially my mum have have a hard, tough time. First we decluttered our house, put it on the market to sell:

If you look real close you will see a certain pup's face made it into the advertising shot of the kitchen!

It took almost 3 months to sell it, then we had to clear all our mountains of stuff out and put it into storage (yes -even my toys and pillows/beds!!)

First a big truck came and took all the furnitures and bigger stuffs

And then this truck came and took other stuffs that my peeps didn't want anymore - like the lounge suite!

You know my peeps are building a new house for me us. Yup - our custom design.

Here is what it looks like at the moment, but I'll post more about the build separately later.

So all our stuff is put away into two storage units while we bunk in with mum's brother (uncie) and Scarlet and Zoe. Check out how stuffed our storage units are:

In amongst mum doing all this kinds of stuffs:

Something extra EXCITING happened. Mum was contacted by Schnauzer Rescue in our state and was asked to foster a male mini schnauzer ...  Dad said "no way" (because we were busy, packing and about to be homeless) .... he lost :

Meet ARCHIE!!

We became good friends ... and we did a lot of "helping" while mum was packing. Here's us helping her in the kitchen. You'll hear more about Archie later.

And that's not all, in the last month of us still having a home ... mum's good friend and my Auntie Lynny went back to the Yoouu Kay and we looked after her house, car and Lily. Here's me looking after Lily.

Looking after Lily on the couch we gave to the Salvos.

So there were 3 dawgs and 2 peeps sleeping on a queen size bed in the last few days of our old house. We even got to go on walks and visit the parks and even our build:

Archie and me standing on the concrete that is the floor of our alfresco.

Auntie Lynny came home on the day that we had to hand over our house to new owners, then we all lived at Auntie Lynny's for a couple of weeks.

Here is Archie and me sharing my blue bed at Auntie Lynny's after some big plays with plastic squeaky toys (Archie's very favourite!)

Favourite toy at the moment.

We are expecting that the new house is going to be finished in mid February 2016, so we have a few months at uncie's. The good part is I get to live with Scarlet and Zoe for a while. That's good funs.

These pics are from Scarlet and Zoe's very last visit to our old house ... and they met Archie for the first time too.

I'm also really close to where Grandpaw lives ... and he is real good at dishing out the treats if you know what I mean.

Scarlet and me at Uncie's watching Uncie cleaning the front windows for us.

So I just wanted to touch base with you all, and hope you can forgive my ma for letting my blog almost flush out because of our house bizzyness. Technically we are "homeless" but lucky Uncie is letting us stay.

Till next time!!

Pupdate and Hollingday Pix (Moonta Bay) Pawt 2

Hiya all,

Thanks and big licks to all my furiends who left beautiful messages to get better soon ... I did and I have! Turns out it must have just been a soft tissue injury and after my course of anti-inflammatories I was all better. My V-E-T was very pleased with my blood results and basically I'm a healthy pup all round.

Now for the funs part of my post ... Hollingday pix:

This here was a fairly common scene at the end of most days while hollingdaying at the beach at Moonta Bay. I had so much stuff to do.

Firstly there are many "walks" which are basically me runnin' about like a mad thing on the beach while chasing my tennis ball. See the look here sayin' "throw it, throw it, throw it!!!!!"

Rock pools and under jetty to explore ...

Gettin' wet ...

Swimmin' ..... love swimmin'!!

Even boats to check out on the beach ...

Then there are the dawgs to meet - this is Buddy - we had a blast together ...

So I took him back to the caravan pawk and introduced him to "Scooter" my friend.

Scooter lived one van away from us at Moonta. See her van is the big one at the very left of picture. Ours is the one with the 3 window domes and the solar panel.

When Scooter wasn't "fishing"  (looking for little fish in the shallows) she loved playing "get Rubie's ball" on the beach

She loved it so much she brought the ball back and shouted at the peeps to throw it again!! First to my dad dad,

Then to her mum Auntie Kath. Look - she even threw in some "crazy eyes" !!

We had some great times alright !!

Played until we were "knackered!!"

Knackered and a little sandy lol!!!!

(safe bet there will be a warm rinse off for me!)

The worst thing was when mum went over to Auntie Kath and Uncle Barry's van chatting and stuff - and then mum would grab Scooter and it would be all "love fest lovey dovey time"!

Mum can't help herself. Auntie Kath was such a nice lady but she sounded funny - she talked different and she said she comes from Detroit U.S.A. !! She married an Aussie (who loves to fish) and they now caravan a lot. They live in Queensland and often travel to South Australia in Jan/Feb to enjoy our caravan parks and our fishing. Nice life huh?! Mum and I send big licks and hugs - and hope very much to see you again!!

So as you see a pup needs her rest while on hollingdays ... there is just so much to do!!

Next post I'll show you more of Moonta and Moonta Bay - I know Reilly and Denny's mum always gets a kick out of seeing towns she  is familiar with ... so a little tour is coming your way!!

Bye for now.... Rubie xxx
