The Wildlife Park !!

Yesterday started off pretty good. I got to go in the car and we drove to Uncie's place - so I would get to play with Scarlet and Zoe!

Lots of my human family started to gather including 3 relatives from Sweden. So we thought - "boy oh boy big play-day with LOTS of humans too!!"

However, the humans put us behind doggie gates at Uncie's house and LEFT US!! There are no photos to share of this because it would have showed Scarlet, Zoe and me with looks of disbelief!

Apparently the humans thought going to a "wildlife park" was better without US!

I have been pawing through their photos:

Look at this - my pretty Swedish human holding a Koala!! How can that be better than holding a schnauzer???!!!!??

Check this out - one of my uncie's feeding a wallaby!! How can that be better than feeding a schnauzer???!!!???

Have a look - my Swedish relative human patting a baby deer!! - How can that be better than patting a schnauzer???!!!???

For goodness sake! This is a little goat sniffing my other Swedish relative - How can that be better than having a schnauzer sniff you???!!!???

Wise "frog mouth" owl: Rubie, stop being so paranoid - this is a special occasion visit - you get your loved humans around you everyday!!

Parrots: Rubie - we have a plan...... we will get your humans over to the angry monkey.... he will pull an angry face and scare them back to you Scarlet and Zoe!

Monkey: GGGGrrrrrrrrr!! Go home to the schnauzers!!!!!!

Well, look at that, these nice animals were only borrowing my humans for a short time..... and then they helped them get back to us. Thanks guys!!!! Good job!!

After being collected from Uncie's, we three schnauzers went back to my place and we had a big BBQ dinner. We scored some choice meats from the BBQ too. It was a late night, and my photographer was slack not taking any photos of us for my blog. She was supposed to be "hostess". Hummphh!

However, today I am absolutely knackered - it's going to be 39 degrees (celsius) outside - and this is all I'm interested in doing:

My eyes are open...... but my eyelids are getting heavy!

Boxing Day

Every year my mum makes a nice "Christmas Dinner" on Boxing day for her very good friend from England, Auntie Lynny. She is a professional pet lover and has 3 rescue doggies of her own at the moment. Auntie Lynny tells me she used to own a horsie and a puddy cat too. They have crossed the rainbow bridge.

But I have also trained Auntie Lynny in the correct techniques for keeping mini schnauzers "on side" and so she brought Scarlet, Zoe and me something special in a Christmas bag:

Auntie Lynny trying to give us our Christmas Bag - you can see how calm and patient we are to see what she has brought us.

Yummo - Nom Noms - we each got a piggie ear!! Thanks Auntie Lynny!!

Because Scarlet and Zoe were here for a Play-Day with me, Mum thought you would like to see a "before" shot of some of our back yard before they got here.

Now for some reason, these "after" shots are something of a big deal:

Just because some "mulches go flying"

Does not mean that that's a bad thing surely!

Rubie's mum: You're not the one that has to do the "day after sweeping", Rubie!

Merry Christmas TO ALL!

Today is Christmas Day, and after spending 13 hours at Grandpaw's house yesterday, I'm happy to let my mum and dad do another day of relie visits, and I'm guarding my faux fur pillow while sleeping at home. I've asked them to pass on my puppy love.

But before I snooze, Scarlet, Zoe and I wanted to show you our full Christmas outfits, as the humans worked very hard at helping us wear hats for the first time. It was not an easy thing.

Merry Christmas from ME !

Zoe: Seasons Greetings to ALL!

Scarlet: And have a happy happy New Year!!

Rubie's Mum: Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

It's Christmas Eve

Geez, nobody told me how much energy I would have to save up for this whole Christmas Season. It's just exhausting being the new puppy and world wide web blogger. Yesterday was Christmas Eve, and there are always big celebrations at Grandpaws house because it's also his Birthday!! This year is a special one because we have relatives from Sweden over to visit me..... I mean...us. Grandpaws niece and her daughter, then on the 27th Dec, they will be joined by Grandpaws' nieces husband! So far, so good , they love me too!

Zoe and me getting ready for a big day.

Me scoring a tummy rub from a relie.

Another nice relie giving me a neck scratch. Nice.

There were lot's of people gathered hugging, talking and eating - the Christmas tradition!! I counted 15 people altogether..... and they all loved me!

Scarlet: Hey, Rubie they thought me and Zoe were pretty good too!! It's not ALL about you, you know!

Zoe: Yea and this nice lady is picking ME to cuddle, Ha Ha!

Only coz you are little and light, Zoe, my mum is happy to pick me up and cuddle me - and she's my world Zoe!!

Anyway - back to playing!

This is us doing a Christmas collar congo line........ we kept on pulling each other around by the Christmas collar and occasionally one would fall off - but really, we were pretty good with them. It seemed important to the humans for us to wear them.

When most of our dear relies went onto other parties, just my immediate people were left - dinner and sweets to come! I had some special food in my bowl.......

It didn't stop me looking forlorn at the human dinner table - hoping for more!

Here's Scarlet taking forlorn to a whole new level...........a seasoned professional is Scarlet!

Then darkness fell, and the Christmas Tree room started to glow pretty with Christmas lights, and I spotted lots of the pretty parcels!

All these parcels are for ME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's me opening them.

See what I got.......two plush animal cushions, one Christmas bear stuffie, one doggie candy cane, and a whole BUCKET of treats....... better sample some of that straight away!!

Rubie's Mum: I'll take that bucket Rubie, in fact, I'll be in charge of that bucket!

OOOhhhh drats! Bummer drag! I hate rationing!

But my mate Oskar was right - Santy Paws rocks, and Christmas does mean more treats all round!

ACTION Bitey Face....and Christmas is coming!

Scarlet and Zoe came over again yesterday, this is our last "play-day" before Christmas. I have already clued up Zoe on what Christmas means..... because this is her first Christmas too.

I've already established that it includes peoples, pawties, food, parcels and treats. There will be a good chance that some food, parcels and treats will be specially for US. So we have to be good.

First here we are showing how good we can be:

This is us being good for mum and uncie. Let's hope Santy Paws is also watching. Scarlet is resting on her dad (my uncie).

Scarlet: It's about to deteriorate here, these two young ones can't control their urges for being a bit naughty - Santy Paws - look away now!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Grrr Grrr Grrr!!

Surprise bitey face....

    More bitey face.

Let's take it to the floor Zoe!

Zoe: OK - let's go!

Zoe: We love bitey face, and we are good at it! Santy Paws won't mind....we are only playing!!

Rubie's mum: OK - all three of you have to try on your Christmas outfits and be good doggies for the camera. Your blog needs some nice photos of you three being all festive, Rubie.

Scarlet: Can't wait for this one!! You really think the little squirts are going to be "good while looking festive"??

See - we can be good like the mini schnauzers in Kuala Lumpur!! They always sit nicely on the couch!

Scarlet: Deterioration begins - stage 1

Scarlet: Here's stage 2

Scarlet: Stage 3 - I'm outa here! You two never quit!!

Zoe: What????    Is there a problem??? Where did Scarlet go???? We have a photo shoot to do!! I hate it when my sister doesn't take things seriously!!

Yea - and mum hasn't even put the little red and white matching hats on us yet!!!!

Zoe: (Gulp)....there's hats too!!?? How are we gonna keep them on our little furry heads?????

My First Christmas "Do"

I thought something funny was going on at my place. For two days there seemed to be a lot of shopping, cooking and housework going on here. Then my dad started doing a lot of stuff outside and bringing up chairs to the gazebo from the shed. The shed seems to hold the "overflow" of human stuff from the house - as far as I can tell.

Then on Saturday - cars started to drive up my driveway and nice people started coming in through my front door. There was a lot of "glee-ful welcomes" to do.

My parents were hosting an early Christmas party for six of their close friends.

Here's me helping Auntie Candy juggle her punch and pat me at the same time. I think it's important that humans can multi-skill - especially where there is patting required.

Here I am again scoring pats from Auntie Jody - she's cool because she loves little dogs and has two little ones of her own..... oh, and she loves me!!

Meet my Uncie Benn, this is our first meeting - and, yes, he now loves me TOO! My effect is awe-inspiring on all who meet me.

I scored a few doggie friendly nibbles at the outside event, then we moved inside for more food - I think the humans call it "dinner".

I forgot to take a photo of dinner - but I got to taste some turkey, bacon wrapped pork sausages and special carrots - I have to say "bravo mum!". Why don't we have this sort of stuff everyday?????

Here is a photo of the "sweets" - I hate this part of dinner because I get to "look but not touch (or taste)!" BUMMER DRAG!!!

Choccy mousse, brandied cherries, choc dipped strawberries and a choc and vanilla wafer - sounds like the appropriate food groups to me - but no matter what adorable face I pulled - I was unsuccessful in the taste department!!

After "sweets" we went to the Christmas Tree room. There were lots and lots of pretty wrapped parcels around the tree.

There were more parcels than this angle allows you to see - but I look good, no!??

OOOhhhhh Lookie - a little parcel for ME! My clever Auntie Kelly makes Jewellery and is very good at it..... I wonder if she made me something!?

Awww - a beautiful silver pendent for my collar - and it has a "R" for Rubie. I'm overwhelmed ..... thanks Santy Paws, Auntie Kelly and Uncie Barry!!

This big parcel is handed to me by Auntie Jody....... I wonder what it could be!!

Woooo Hoooo - a colourful stuffie - with a squeeker at the end of every colour - I'm gonna have fun with this!! Thanks Auntie Jody and Uncie Ben! They said their little boy doggie picked this toy out for me! He has good taste, and great understanding.

Look what else I got! Santa and Auntie Candy and Uncie Todd got me TWO bags  of some of my FAV treats - mini piggie ears and liver treats!!. Look how cool I am about it - but I'm really plotting to create a diversion and run off with my bags to get stuck into them in private. The way to a mini schnauzer's heart is through her tum tum! Thankyou!

When everyone had finished unwrapping their parcels and finished hugging one another, Uncie Todd chucked my new stuffie to me - see it flying across the room to me!!

Uncie Todd is a experienced doggie owner - and he now loves me too. He got on hands and knees and played with me for ages.... my charm and good looks got to him. Who could blame him!

Here we are playing tug-a-toy - I took a while to get warmed up to Uncie Todd - he kinda has wild hair and I was a little unsure of him. But I think he's great now - and a great player with me!!

Love my Uncie Todd..... gggrrr stuffie! Haven't I got Uncie Todd well trained to play with me already. I'm a happy girl.

Well, I am beginning to understand this Christmas business - seems people get together, eat good food, talk and laugh a lot, then unwrap pretty presents. As I was told, there are more treats all round....even for ME! I like Christmas........ and there's more Christmas to come!!! Big paws up from me!

After this happy nite, I slept very soundly.
